Traditional waxes and polishes are no match for the harsh realities of today's environmental conditions and our fast paced lifestyles. Most waxes are made from Carnuba which as we all know when wax gets hot it melts, becomes sticky and thus holds dirt on to your Airplane's paint. Colour Shield is not a "wax." It is a Patented, 2 Step Polarized Paint Protection System (PPS) the process adds a layer of durable PTFE to your plane's finish, creating strength and sealing out pollutants. Your aircraft stays much cleaner between washings. Best of all, your paint protection will last for years instead of weeks! I have been a customer of Aero-Clean, Inc. for eight years. I have had three jet aircraft, two Hawkers and a Falcon 50 treated with the Polarized Paint Protection. It is my opinion that the protective coatings were beneficial for the following reasons. - The coatings have maintained the high gloss of the original paint for over 5 years, in the case of the Hawker 700. The Falcon 50 was painted 2 Years ago and still appears to have been freshly painted.
- The coatings have greatly improved the ease of maintenance type cleaning and wiping of fluids and insects.
- I normally budget for aircraft paint at five-year intervals, but it appears that this period may be extended to 7 years. This is an estimate based upon the current condition of the Hawker paint and means budget savings over the life of the aircraft.

To determine the durability of Colour Shield's PPS formula it was subjected to an abrasion test the result showing no detectable change in the coated panels after 150 passes. |
The Colour Shield Secret! | The secret of Colour Shield's durability is its patented PTFE formulation. PTFE, which stands for Polytetrafluorethylene. From a chemical point of view PTFE consists of one long carbon chain, surrounded by fluor atoms that form a protective housing. That kind of chemical structure determines the outstanding properties and multiple possibilities for PTFE application, which makes it different from all other materials. Colour Shield's paint protection is not just used on aircraft but also for Cars, Boats, Motorcycles, & Trucks! PTFE shows superb stability even under high temperatures and in the presence of solvents, oils, oxidants, ultra violet rays and other influences of the operating environment. PTFE remains stable up to 260°C or 500°F. PTFE has excellent anti-adhesive properties. PTFE is extremely resistant to the influence of the most corrosive organic and inorganic chemical compounds. PTFE is Non-combustible & has a low heat conduction capacity. PTFE has an extremely low friction coefficient of 0.1 or less. PTFE has absolute resistance during a long stay in water. PTFE does not change its optical properties under the influence of various corrosive operating mediums. PTFE is chemically pure and inert and does not influence the operating environment.

We have had four Jet Aircraft & one King Air with the Polarized Paint Protection System put on them. Our Mechanics feel that it improves the wiping and cleaning of insects and bird faeces.
