How do I apply Colour Shield?
Applying Colour Shield is very easy to do. The entire application
process, can take as little as one hour. Colour Shield performs
best when it's applied in temperatures above 65 Degrees F. or
10 Degrees C. Please read application
instructions for three very effective methods.
4a)
What about Water restrictions?
No
problem, in the application instructions there is a water reduced
method which will require no more than 6 litres.
5)
Will Colour Shield remove oxidation?
Colour Shield does remove minor scratches and swirls but will
not remove oxidation. It preserves paint. If your paint is already
oxidized you will need to remove it using a fine grade cutting
compound
before applying Colour Shield.
6)
Does it work on plastic, glass, or chrome?
It is safe to use Colour Shield on most painted plastic
parts. We DO NOT recommend you use it on black rubberized body
parts or trim. Colour Shield works extremely well on polished
alloy, chrome or stainless steel surfaces as well as plexi-glass.
7)
How long will Colour Shield last?
The Paint Protection System will last 5 years on a new car and
3 years on a used car with good paint.
8)
How is Colour Shield different from the paint protection the
dealers sell on new cars at the time of closing at anywhere
from $300 to $599?
The main difference is the longevity of the product when compared
to standard waxes. You will save yourself a lot of time
and money with just one application. Car dealers prepare
every car to give a maximum shine in the showroom. They do
this with either standard waxes or various types of paint
sealants to give the car a high gloss shine. At the time of
closing, car dealers will try to sell you a "premium"
paint protection at anywhere from $300 to $599. These "premium"
paint sealants make the car look really great for about a
month and then the waxes begin to wash off and the paint starts
oxidizing. Most of the dealers guarantee their sealants for
3 to 5 years but they have to be reapplied about 4 to 6 times
per year! The dealer knows that few people will actually do
this so they make a tremendous profit on these "premium"
paint protection up sells.
